You’re somewhere in your mid-to-late forties. You’re smart, capable, and you’ve always figured things out. You’ve done Weight Watchers, low-fat, low-carb, counted macros, and even dabbled in online programs before. You work out when you can. You eat reasonably well — mostly. And yet, something is very, very wrong.
The weight won’t budge — especially around your middle. You’re exhausted by 3 pm but can’t sleep through the night. Your digestion is a mess. You’re snapping at people you love and feeling guilty about it. Your brain feels like it’s running on dial-up. Your doctor ran some labs, told you everything looks “within normal range,” and maybe offered you an anti-anxiety medication to take the edge off, and if you were lucky, some hormone replacement.
And somewhere in the back of your mind, a quiet and terrifying thought is forming: Is this just… it? Is this what getting older feels like?
I know this story. I lived it.
The Moment Everything Changed for Me
I got into coaching through macros – hence, Menopause Macros. I’d found real success with a flexible dieting approach — even in the thick of perimenopause — and people started asking me how I was doing it. I asked my coach to explain why this worked for me and she couldn’t. She didn’t know – or as I later found out, she didn’t have time to explain it to me. I’m a science person by education and by nature, so “just eat this many grams of protein” wasn’t going to cut it for me. I needed to understand the why behind what was working.
So I went looking for answers. And what I found changed everything.
Here’s what I learned, and what most coaches — and honestly, most doctors — won’t take the time to explain to you: you cannot out-diet a broken system.
When your thyroid is struggling, your adrenals are overtaxed, your hormones are in freefall (or bouncing around), your gut is inflamed, and your body is under siege from a daily toxin load, no perfect mix of protein, fat, carbs, and calories is going to fix that. You can eat “perfectly” and still gain weight. You can exercise hard and feel worse. You can take the trending probiotic that worked for your cousin, but it makes you feel horrible.
I watched this happen to my clients. Women who were doing everything right and still suffering. Women who were being handed prescriptions instead of answers. Women who were told to “just accept it” and “get ready for the ride.”
That wasn’t good enough for me. And it isn’t good enough for you.
Why the System Is Failing Us
Here’s something I want you to understand: I don’t entirely blame the doctors. They are overworked, undertrained in functional and menopausal health, and operating in a system that gives them approximately seven minutes per patient. They are not equipped — and often not incentivized — to dig into the root causes of your symptoms. They look at your bloodwork, see you’re “within range,” and move on to the next patient.
Meanwhile, you go home feeling invisible. Crazy. Dismissed.
And then you go online, where the noise is even worse. Every influencer has a solution. Every ad promises a cure. AI tools, coaches (most of whom have never navigated a woman’s midlife hormonal landscape themselves), and well-meaning friends and family members all have opinions. The information is overwhelming, contradictory, and almost never personalized to your actual biology and current situation.
We are also living in bodies that are more burdened than any previous generation. Ultra-processed food, endocrine-disrupting chemicals in our skincare and cleaning products, mold, alcohol, chronic stress, and poor sleep create a toxic load that compounds everything happening hormonally during menopause. Our bodies are fighting on too many fronts at once.
And we are told to count calories, work out more, and take an antidepressant.
No wonder so many of us have quietly given up.
What I Built — and Why
The BearPAL Intensive Program exists because I needed it to exist.
After hitting my own wall — watching my macro progress stall despite doing everything “right” — I went deep into functional health education. I trained with mentors, earned my FDN-P certification, and continue my education with a focus on the menopause transition. I have built a methodology around what actually works for women navigating peri to postmenopause, and I continue to refine it.
The Intensive is not a diet program. It’s not a quick fix. It’s a systematic process of uncovering what’s actually going on inside your body — and using that information to build a personalized plan that addresses the real root causes of your symptoms. Like ogres and onions, your health has layers that need to be peeled back to get at the root of the symptomology.
Here’s what Intensive includes:
Functional Lab Testing Tailored to You. The Intensive includes four targeted labs. The standard includes a DUTCH hormone and adrenal panel to assess your sex hormones and stress response, a GI-MAP to look at what’s happening in your gut (pathogens, inflammation, digestive function), a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) to assess mineral status and heavy metal burden, and either a genetics screening or a Mediator Release Test to look at hidden food sensitivities. We can customize this based on your specific situation as I have access to dozens of functional labs as well as traditional bloodwork — including the blood work your insurance tells your doctor you don’t need.
1:1 Coaching — Not a Template. I work with a very small number of clients at a time — in the teens. Many coaches in this space carry 50 to 250 clients at a time! Remember that coach that didn’t have time to explain to my why macros were working for me? She had over 200 clients at the time! That’s not coaching; that’s herding. You get my full attention, personalized lab interpretation, and coaching calls tailored to your life, labs, history, and goals.
Education, Not Just Instructions. I don’t just hand you a supplement protocol and send you on your way. I want you to understand your body — what the labs are showing, why I’m recommending what I’m recommending, and how all of these systems connect. When you finish this program, you will know how to advocate for yourself with any healthcare provider. You will know how to filter out the noise.
Targeted Supplementation. Based on your labs, I customize a supplement protocol to support your specific needs — not a generic stack from a supplement company’s marketing team. I explain why you are taking it, how long you will take it, and what to expect. With the Intensive Program, your first round of foundational flush supplements is included!
Access to the Group. Every Intensive client gets free access to the Peri- to Post-Menopause monthly group calls and on-demand access training for the duration of the program — a community of women who get it, because they’re in it.
What Becomes Possible
I want to tell you about some of the women I’ve worked with.
A client came to me overweight, foggy, low-energy, and miserable with horrible, debilitating digestive issues. She was working with a functional health practitioner, but they weren’t spending enough time to really dig into the issues. She was down to eating only a few foods! We dug deeper with labs and found foods and solutions that worked for her. She is still working with her practitioner, but she understands her needs and now advocates for herself. And she still checks in with me if she needs anything.
Another client — a high-level menopausal athlete — came to me because she was experiencing symptoms that no one was connecting to each other. She knew her body well, and she knew something was off. We used the labs to connect the dots between her history, her symptoms, and her stress load. She’s now competing at her goal weight with better energy and digestion than she’d had in years. She is a multi-layer onion we are still peeling.
These women didn’t need more willpower. They didn’t need a harder workout plan or a stricter diet. They needed someone to look at the full picture and help them understand what their bodies were telling them.
As one of my clients put it: “Health rebuilding and health agency are the perfect phrases for this journey.”
That’s exactly it. This is about giving you back your agency.
What I Believe Needs to Change
We are in the middle of a massive generational wave. Gen X women — millions of us — are moving through perimenopause and menopause right now, and the healthcare system is not ready for us. Unfortunately, I’m already seeing Millennials who are suffering through hormone dysfunction much earlier than we did. The system is not set up to help us. It is still largely based on 20-year-old male-subject science and interventions.
Peptide therapies, hormone replacement, and functional health approaches that could dramatically improve quality of life are still largely inaccessible to anyone who doesn’t know how to navigate the system or has a lot of disposable income to spend finding the right provider.
I could go on.
This needs to change. And part of how it changes is through women like you learning what’s possible — and then telling other women.
Most of my clients come to me through word of mouth. Moms who’ve worked with me refer their daughters. Women who’ve been through the program refer their friends and husbands. Some of my clients have even told me they want to become coaches themselves someday. That’s the ripple effect I’m after.
This is what paying it forward looks like.
One More Thing I Want You to Hear
I tell every potential client the same thing: not trying something different will keep you exactly where you are.
I know some of what I do may sound unconventional. Functional labs, mineral analysis, personalized supplementation — it’s not what you’ve been told to expect from a health coach. But the conventional approach — the one that’s left you feeling dismissed, exhausted, and stuck — clearly isn’t working either.
Sometimes the thing that feels “out there” is exactly what your body has been waiting for.
You are not crazy. You are not broken. You are not doomed to feel this way for the rest of your life. You just haven’t had someone look under the hood yet.
I’d love to be that person for you.
