For months when I started macros, I would buy the pre-made salad mix from Costco. I would then throw out the poppy seed dressing (yuk) and use the sunflower seed and cranberry raisin mix to supplement the kid’s snack stash. This was wasteful and expensive.
I now make this Asian Salad Mix weekly and use it for multiple macro creations. It takes about 20 minutes to chop and mix. Since it is nutrient-rich, but not calorie dense, you do not have to be too exact on the mixture.
Mix in what you like, build a recipe based on grams per serving and measure it out for the use.
I use it in soups, stir fry, salad, pizza topping – the uses are endless.
I weigh all ingredients in grams and then weigh the total in grams to get the serving size. I remeasure my Asian Salad Mix about once every month or so, just to make sure my MFP recipe is on target.
Here is a great video that shows how to enter the recipe and enter your specific serving. Struggle no more with entering your recipes into MFP!
