Menopause Resources I Love

by | Aug 17, 2020

I have mentioned that there is not a lot of information out there to prepare you for perimenopause. I only found out after I was put on hormone replacement therapy that there were other options. I have since educated myself by taking a course, working with a functional health coach, and reading up on the topic.

Helpful menopause resources

If you are a book hound like me, here are some great resources and references for perimenopause and menopause that I recommend:

A new addition as of 3/25/2021!

The Hormone Repair Manual by Laura Briden, ND. This is similar in format to the one below from her, but specifically for female hormones after 40. This is a must have reference if you want to be up on terminology and treatments – especially for helping to discuss these issues with your health professional.

The Hormone Cure by Sara Gottfried, MD covers it all. She explains all the basics of hormones and how to balance them throughout life. This is my favorite because I like her writing style and it is easy to find what I need to know. She gives you the low down on supplements, hormone replacement therapy, underlying conditions, etc.

The Period Repair Manual by Lara Briden, ND is a resource for women of any age. If you have questions about birth control methods or any crazy period problems, this is where to go. Her explanation of hormones and their functions is easy to understand.

The Menopause Book is more of an “I have a question” and answer book for menopause. However, if you are considering natural methods of hormone balancing, go with the previous books. If you have weird situations or symptoms, this is a good resource to check out.
